About the Lunch Note Project

The whole thing started because my daughter likes me to write notes to put in her lunch bag, and I found out I was terrible at it. I could only think of so many ways to write “Have a good day at school!” or “Enjoy your lunch!” without ending up writing the same note every day.

So it occurred to me, that if I wrote a story, the note would have to be different every day. And, since I work as an illustrator and can’t do anything – anything – without scanning it in, I decided to put these up here.

After quite some time, her story came to an end. And then her younger brother said, "Can I have a story too? With lizards? And ninjas? And swords that fly by themselves?"

So I said yes.
